Sourcing castings, rough or machined, the question is never just “Who can make this part?” It’s more like, “Who can make this part right, on time, every time, and back it up with over a century of proof?” That’s exactly the standard Acme Foundry has met since we first opened our doors in Coffeyville, Kansas, in 1905.
More than 120 years later we’re still here, still manufacturing quality castings to our customers’ specifications every single day. And in American manufacturing, that kind of longevity tells its own story…not to mention the overseas market, where you’ll be hard-pressed to find a casting company with even a quarter of that experience.
With Acme, every casting is poured, processed, and even machined in-house with more than a century of quality behind it.
A Century of Ongoing Gray Iron Casting Expertise
Most foundries can pour iron. Far fewer have spent more than 120 consecutive years refining every step of the gray iron casting process. At Acme Foundry, that depth of experience is baked into everything we do, from how we review incoming pattern equipment to how we set tolerances on complex cored components.
Gray iron is not a one-size-fits-all material. We produce castings in grades up to Class 55, including specialized highly alloyed grades. That range gives our customers flexibility without forcing them to shop across multiple suppliers. Our quality assurance program ensures every casting meets the customer’s exact specifications, drawings, and tolerances before it ships.
Complex Castings Are Our Specialty – Rough or Machined

Many foundries can handle simple, straightforward parts. Acme built its reputation doing the jobs other foundries find difficult. We specialize in highly complex, cored, and engineered gray iron castings, supported by a fully equipped in-house core room where we produce custom engineered cores to ensure the tightest manufacturing consistency possible.
Casting size typically ranges from 1 to 300 lbs, and our output reaches up to 25,000 tons of finished castings per year. High-volume, high-precision production with the attention of a hands-on American business is how we’ve built relationships with purchasing and operations managers throughout the U.S.
Especially nowadays, anyone in sourcing or procurement is simply tired of the supply chain disruptions, delays, and other headaches that come with overseas foundries.
Integrated CNC Machining
For many projects, “complex castings” mean high-precision machined castings. Our integrated CNC machining division, Magic Circle, streamlines that process. Rather than shipping rough castings to a third-party machine shop and hoping tolerances survive the handoff, we offer integrated CNC turning and milling without the need for you to involve third-party machine shops.
Acme gives your project a single-source, single point of contact and accountability. We reduce lead times as well as the number of vendor relationships your procurement team has to manage. That also means less hand offs, so less risk of quality issues or delays from transitioning parts between facilities.
Essentially, with Acme Foundry, your project is one-and-done. Give us your specifications, and we deliver precision finished castings.
Bringing Industry Knowledge to Your Project
Acme Foundry doesn’t try to be everything to everyone in every industry. While we can make virtually any custom gray iron casting according to specification, we tend to focus on applications where gray iron performs best and where our expertise runs deepest.
Approximately 65% of our production serves the fluid power industry, with additional volume going to transmission machinery, petro-chemical applications, and other industrial sectors. Specialized applications include hydraulic components, compressor housings, industrial valves, oil field and gas equipment, earth-moving machinery, and air brake systems.
If you work in these or any adjacent industries, our decades of real-world manufacturing expertise can be invaluable.
120+ Years of Manufacturing Reliability
Many manufacturers have learned hard lessons about offshore casting supply chains. Whether you’re reshoring your project or setting up initial production, Acme represents a single-source solution that you can rely on today, tomorrow, and decades down the road.
American-made, quality-backed, produced to your exact specifications, delivered according to your timeline and production schedule. We make sourcing castings easy.
